This isn’t just an invitation to a wedding reception, but also to an adventure: we’ll be celebrating in Ruy’s homeland, Brazil, with his large family. In one of the most beautiful spots in the state of São Paulo, on the island of Ilhabela.
We’d be delighted if you, coming all the way from the UK, wouldn’t shy away from the journey and the effort involved and would join us for this special celebration – it’ll be well worth it!
Location
We’re celebrating on Ilhabela, the "beautiful island" off the coast of São Paulo.
There we’ve booked a former sugar cane farm, "Vila Siriúba", for ourselves and our guests, from the 31st of October to the 2nd November.
Vila Siriúba is right by the sea, has a swimming pool and privileged access to the beach of Siriúba.
The island has a good infrastructure and is very safe.
Getting there
The only way to reach the island is by ferry, which departs from the town of São Sebastião on the mainland.
We recommend travelling via São Paulo. Coaches run hourly between the city of São Paulo and the ferry terminal in São Sebastião. From there, just hop on the ferry and enjoy the short ride.
The coach journey to Ilhabela from Guarulhos International Airport takes approximately 3.5 hours.
Where to stay
Vila Siriúba has been booked for us and our guests for two nights, from the 31st of October to the 2nd of November; there are plenty of accommodation options there. Please let us know if we can offer you a room there.
If you’d prefer to stay somewhere else, there are countless hotels and holiday homes near Vila Siriúba on the island.

Who would you be coming with? All children are welcome, Just please let us know their age. Do you need help to organise your accommodation (see above)?
